Italmatch’s strong China relations recognized at ICCF Annual Meeting
Italmatch had the opportunity to share its experience in China and present future plans as a member of the Foundation

Italmatch Chemicals was honored to be invited to the Annual General Meeting of the Italy-China Council Foundation (ICCF) in Milan (Italy) as an exceptional testimonial and winner of the 2007 China Awards.
This important event highlighted the Group as a virtuous example and as a member of the Foundation with a long presence in China, providing an opportunity to share our experience as award winners and present our future projects in the country.
The ICCF is an organization that brings companies, organizations and institutions together to develop collaborations and opportunities in both countries. It operates as a point of reference for those who want to better understand the Chinese market, promoting exchange between the two countries through training, consultancy, networking and institutional events.
In this context, Maurizio Turci, Group General Manager Corporate of Italmatch Chemicals presented company’s strong and diversified industrial presence in China since late 90s, illustrating how Italmatch’s path can inspire and guide future generations of entrepreneurs.
“Initially, our relationships with China were limited to supplying raw materials. Then, we chose to see China as a strategic partner and export the industrial model of Spoleto plant. The real turning point came with the development of greenfield plant in Nantong beginning 2000 then in Fangcheng and acquisition of Changzou plants. The “perfect storm” of 2008 and “Black Swan” Covid 2020 and next presented significant challenges” comments Maurizio Turci
“Despite the difficulties, the company was able to guarantee supplies and gain the trust of customers. This success was recognized with prestigious awards such as the Top Investors in China Award (2007) and the Golden Panda Award (2015), which testify the validity of a long-term project started over 25 years ago. Our priority has been to understand a different cultural model, with the aim of creating a shared identity based on diversity to overcome prejudice and break down barriers”” adds Maurizio Turci
At Italmatch, people are the heart of every strategic and operational decision, recognizing that our employees are the true drivers of growth.
“This commitment is reflected in our investment in training and intercultural collaboration projects aimed at developing skills and encouraging dialogue between cultures. This is demonstrated by our achievement of the ‘Great Place to Work’ certification in China, awarded to organizations that offer a high-quality work environment which prioritizes people’s well-being and is guided by inclusive and inspiring leadership” concludes Maurizio Turci
