Ocean Race Grand Finale: Italmatch celebrates the Genoa event

Italmatch Chemicals celebrates the 2023 Ocean Race Grand Finale in Genoa (Italy), the final leg of the historic sailing event. This 14th edition of the race started in Alicante (Spain) in January and will finish in Genoa, the city where Italmatch’s headquarters is based, from June 24th to July 2nd.

Since its foundation in 1973, The Ocean Race has been one of the most important and toughest sailing events worldwide, a challenging international course with multiple legs visiting iconic cities. This edition’s Grand Finale will also mark a truly historic moment, with the race finishing in the Mediterranean for the first time.

Italmatch is proud to support The Ocean Race Grand Finale, an competition which wants to be a catalyst for change by accelerating the protection and restoration of our seas. The event has organized the “Genova Process“, a journey about sustainability and ocean protection through Ocean Summits and innovation workshops held in Genoa.

The final Ocean Summit, which will be hosted in the city during the Grand Finale, will lead to the definition of the draft principles of the Declaration of Ocean Rights. The document will then be presented to the United Nations General Assembly in New York in September 2023.
